Our story · कोना

Two meanings, one corner.

KŌNA is a small word that does a lot of work. It's a corner, it's a coffee, and it's the feeling we wanted to give Chhindwara.

The courtyard corner at KŌNA

कोना — the corner

A corner of one's own.

In Hindi, कोना means a corner — the cozy nook by the window, the seat you always take, the little pocket of the world that feels like yours.

Every town deserves a corner like that. Chhindwara didn't have one yet. So we made it.

Kona — the coffee

Named for great coffee.

Kona is also one of the world's most celebrated coffee origins — a name that means care, altitude and patience in every cup.

We take the coffee that seriously: single origins, dialled-in espresso, slow pour-overs, and a house blend with a whisper of palm jaggery.

The rooftop garden at KŌNA

The garden

Built green, on purpose.

Breeze-block walls, terrazzo floors, rattan light and plants in every direction — a building that breathes, opening to a rooftop under the open sky.

It's the kind of place that slows your shoulders down the moment you walk in.

“We didn't want to build the biggest café in town. We wanted to build the one you'd call your corner.

The KŌNA team
